What is Israel Connect?Maccabi USA’s Israel Connect program is a 6-day immersive journey focused on building connection to one’s own Jewish Identity, the American Jewish community, Israel, and global Diaspora Jewry. It has become the cornerstone of the US delegation’s 3-week Maccabiah experience. The United States is the only participating Country that does an Israeli Immersion as a part of the Maccabiah Experience. The trips are taken together via air conditioned bus coaches. The entire USA team and delegation participate in the Israel Connect program.

What are the lodging arraignments during the trip?During the Israel Connect portion of the trip, the USA Youth aged teams stay together, and the Open teams stay at another hotel. After Israel Connect, teams are disbursed to hotels that are grouped by location and sport. For example, our Youth teams (both Boys and Girls) will join other Youth water polo teams from other countries at a common hotel. This allows the teams to interface. The Open teams have the identical experience, but at a different location and hotel. One of the most rewarding elements of the Maccabiah is the formation of lifelong bonds with participants (both water polo and other sports) from other countries.

How many players are there on each team? Each team is restricted to a maximum 13 players and two coaches.
